Step Four

If your performance is not as high as you would expect - try the following:

Run our speed test 2-3 times at different times of day (at least 20-30 minutes apart) to get an better 'average' performance figure.
We have seen some anti-virus software cause slower performance - so *temporarily* disable your anti-virus software while running the test.

Try the official BT speed test - be sure to take a note of your current ADSL broadband username and password - then change them (in your router or modem) to:

Username : speedtest@speedtest_domain
Password : [leave blank]

Once connected go to: http://speedtester.bt.com

You will be prompted for the BT line number the ADSL service is enabled on - click 'Go' and the speed test will run.

Once the test has completed you will need to change your username / password back to access the Internet.

Note: You can only run this speed test once every 30 minutes.

Contact us - please be sure to include the results of both our speed test and the BT speed test (including test reference number).
